Add attached files in Document Management libraries using Google Cloud or Azure storage

This article explains how to add attached files to documents in Document Management libraries using Google Cloud or Azure Blob storage.

Documents in Document Management libraries can have zero, one, or multiple attached files.

Access the Add attached file feature

1. Open a document in a Document Management library.

2. Do one of the following:

  • click Add in the Properties tab
  • scroll down to the Attachments section and click Add (click Edit first if your document doesn't have any attached files yet)

Google users and Microsoft users can select one of these options:

Upload files from your device

1. Select Upload in the Add attachment dialog. Your device's file picker opens.

2. Select one or more files and click Open. The files are uploaded to your document.


Import files from OneDrive

1. Select Import from OneDrive in the Add attachment dialog. OneDrive opens.

Note: You'll be prompted to sign in if you're not already signed in.

2. Select one or more files, then click Select. The files are uploaded to your document.

Note: The files are copied to AODocs. The original files remain in OneDrive.

Create Microsoft files

1. Select Create in the Add attachment dialog.

2. In the Create a file dialog, select the type of file to create:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint

3. Enter a name for your new file. 

4. Click Create. A blank file is attached to your AODocs document.

Known limitation

In Document Management libraries using Google Cloud or Azure storage, you can't upload files encrypted using Virtru.
