Activate or deactivate early-access features in libraries

What are early-access features?

Early-access features are new features that aren't yet deployed for all customers, but which you can activate on your tenant or in individual libraries.

AODocs is constantly developing and improving. We want you to be able to benefit from new features as soon as they're ready.

With features that impact the end user experience you can:

  • opt-in by activating features before general availability
  • opt-out by deactivating features after general availability for a few releases

These opt-in and opt-out options let you introduce the changes at your own pace.

As a library administrator, you can activate or deactivate early-access features in individual libraries.

Super administrators can activate or deactivate early-access features on the entire tenant.

Important: Activating (or deactivating) features in libraries takes precedence over the tenant level. For example, if you activate a feature on your tenant and deactivate it in one library, the feature will be active in all libraries in your tenant except the one in which you deactivated it. Similarly, if you deactivate the feature on your tenant you can still activate it in selected libraries.

Which early-access features are available?

You can activate the following features:

  • new views and library homepage  – the new views offer several new features, including the ability to edit properties directly from the views
  • new library administration interface – brings a complete redesign with enhanced features, better usability, and a more user-friendly experience

When you activate the new library administration interface, all pages in the library administration display the redesigned interface except the following, which require specific activation:

  • New document class configuration page
  • New workflow configuration page
  • Enable table properties

Note: To enable table properties you must also activate the new document class configuration page.

Activate early-access features in libraries

1. Open the library administration

2. Select Features in the left panel.

3. Activate the required switch.  The feature is activated in your library immediately.

The tag Domain default next to the switch indicates whether the feature is active by default on the tenant. In the example below the new library administration interface is the tenant default and is active in the current library. Library administrators can deactivate this feature in individual libraries.
