Bulk Updater change log – AODocs Knowledge Base

This article lists all the updates made to Bulk Updater since version 17.0 (13 March 2024).

Note: Under normal circumstances, all releases are deployed to all customer domains and instances (US and EU). Learn more: What are AODocs instances? However, AODocs Life Sciences domains use a separate release cycle. We may occasionally restrict the deployment to specific domains or instances for technical reasons.

Bulk Updater 18.4.0 released on 28 April 2026

New feature

We added support to configure custom date formats per domain.

Bug fixes

We fixed an issue that could prevent creating or updating category values.
We fixed an issue in Excel Online where the format of text, string, URL, and system columns was not correctly set to text.
We fixed an issue that caused duplicate sheets when exports exceeded the document threshold.

Bulk updater 18.2.5 released on 16 March 2026

New feature

A new flag defines the defaults for the Do not run custom scripts during update and Mute workflow notifications during update options at the tenant level (both active by default).

Technical improvement

Bulk Updater now supports Firebase Microsoft tokens, which are treated in the same way as Microsoft user tokens.

Bug fix: The export status stale cached RUNNING was blocking the update. This has been fixed.

Bug fix:

We increased the "template" property length in the datastore. There is no longer an error when initializing an export from AODocs views.

Bug fixes:

We fixed a Microsoft authentication issue on customer tenants.
We fixed an issue on the CORS service.
We fixed a slowness issue caused by the increased number of calls to AODocs following the reduction of cache time to 10 minutes.
We improved the way the status of outdated are indicated in the spreadsheet. "Ignored" no longer appears next to outdated values if there are other updates on the row.
We removed the threshold message on small nominal exports.

New features and feature improvements

Microsoft users can authenticate and use Bulk Updater.
It is now possible to export and update libraries using Microsoft Azure Blob Storage.
When Microsoft users export and update they use Excel online.
It is possible to replace a Drive attached file.
We changed the name of the export sheet in the spreadsheet to “BU export” and improve the handling of the sheet to avoid deletion of other sheets in the spreadsheet.

Technical improvements

Refactoring of the Google based code.
Technical separation of the cache from Migrate for AODocs.
We changed cache behavior, basing it on the library ID and user, thereby reducing cache time to 10 minutes.

Bug fix: We resolved an issue with the library’s admin permission cache.

Bulk Updater 17.14 released on 5 February 2025

Escape characters for the folder and category hierarchy are now supported.
You can now ignore outdated categories in updates.
For users whose email address has changed, the AODocs Support team can now transfer the users' exports, updates and triggers to an alias.
The date exported into a column is now a Date format property and not a String.
