This article explains how to display and edit the properties of your AODocs documents directly in Google Drive. You must have edit permissions on the document.
You must install the AODocs Smartbar to do this.
1. Hover over an AODocs document in Google Drive
2. Click the View properties and workflow state button.
Alternatively, you can:
- open your file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides and click the View properties and workflow state button
- open your file in the Google Drive Preview and select View properties and workflow state in the Smartbar menu
3. The Document information dialog opens. It shows:
- the document title and action bar, which contains:
- the workflow button (if a workflow is associated with the document), to perform a workflow action – learn more: Perform workflow actions
- the Open file button, to open non-Google files and edit them locally - learn more: Open and edit non-Google files in local software
- the Open in Google Drive button, to open the file in its corresponding Google editor
- the Edit button, to edit the document properties
- the right sidebar toggle, to view the Workflow transitions tab and Comments tab
- the system properties section, displaying the system properties of the document
- the Workflow state section (if a workflow is associated with the document)
- the Properties section, displaying the custom properties defined in the document’s class (if any)
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Scroll down to the Properties section and edit the document properties.
