UFO/AFO: View locked files

The Universal File Opener (UFO) and the AODocs File Opener (AFO) are Google Chrome extensions.

  • UFO is for Google users in any type of AODocs library using Google Drive
  • AFO is for Google users or Microsoft users in AODocs Document Management libraries using Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob storage

The UFO and AFO extensions enhance your AODocs experience by allowing you to:

  • open non-Google files locally on your computer using the corresponding software
  • save the changes you made locally back to Google Drive (UFO) or AODocs (UFO/AFO)

With UFO/AFO you can see if files are locked before opening them.

Notes specific to UFO:
– The lock status is available only if you're using UFO without the AODocs Smartbar.
Learn more: What is the AODocs Smartbar?
– With UFO you can also access the lock status of files by accessing your cached files.
Learn more: View and manage your cached files.
– Only shared files are locked, so if you're using the standalone UFO (without AODocs) unshared files open without indicating the lock status.
