Delete folders in AODocs

This article explains how to delete folders from AODocs libraries. You must have the necessary permissions to perform this action.

When you delete a folder, it goes to the AODocs library trash. It remains there for the library's defined retention period before being permanently deleted. Learn more: Manage the retention period of deleted documents.

During the retention period, library administrators have additional options. They can:

  • permanently delete the folder and its content
  • restore the folder and its content

To delete a folder:

1. Open a view. Lean more: 

2. select one or more folders you want to delete.

3. In the toolbar, select the trash button.

4. If required, add a comment to explain why you are deleting the document.

Note: Library administrators can see this comment if they have a link to the deleted document. Learn more: View details about deleted documents and folders.

5. Click Delete in the confirmation message.

Notes:
– As a contributor, you can only delete content that you can edit. For example, if you delete a folder containing read-only documents and edit-access documents, only the edit-access documents are sent to the library trash. The folder and the read-only documents it contains aren't deleted.
– Administrators can restore deleted folders and documents. Learn more: Manage deleted documents and folders.
