The AODocs mobile app is a mobile application that brings AODocs features directly into your mobile device.
This article explains which features are available in offline mode in the AODocs mobile app.
While offline you can:
Automatically generated table of contents
View AODocs documents while offline
When you use the AODocs mobile app online, any AODocs libraries and documents you access are saved to your local cache. All documents you previously consulted when online are available to view offline.
Important:
– The data is only as recent as the last time you viewed it online.
– Searching and filters are not available while offline.
When you access libraries and documents offline, a message indicates that some functionality may be unavailable.
Edit AODocs document properties while offline
Make edits offline
If an AODocs document has been cached, you can edit its properties while offline.
You can edit only the document title and the following property types:
- String
- Text
- Integer
- Decimal
- Date
- Time
- Date&Time
- Link
- Boolean

Synchronize your changes to AODocs
To synchronize your changes to AODocs when online again, go to the Local files screen and tap the Synchronize button.
Important: Conflicts are not handled. The changes you make offline will overwrite any changes made in AODocs since you went offline.
Cache attached PDF files for offline viewing
You can store attached PDF files locally and view them while offline.
Important: This feature is available only in libraries using Google Cloud or Azure Blob Storage. It isn't available in Google Drive libraries.
To download all attached PDF files in an AODocs document:
1. In a document, tap the three-dot button. A menu opens at the bottom of the screen.
2. Activate the switch Make files available offline.
To download a newer copy of the attached files, switch the Make files available offline option off then on again.
The offline icon is displayed next to the title of documents with attached files available offline.
To view a cached attached PDF file while offline, tap the attached file in the document.
If you tap the attached file while online, the Advanced Viewer opens in AODocs.
Note:
– If a PDF has many annotations, they may not all be visible offline. This is a current limitation we're working on fixing.
– Existing text notes attached to annotations aren't visible while offline.
Annotate attached PDF files while offline
1. Open an attached PDF file offline.
2. Annotate it using these tools:
- click the pencil button to add a yellow highlight rectangle
- click the line button to draw horizontal red lines to underline or strikethrough
- tap an annotation to add a text note – a dialog opens where you can enter text associated with the annotation
3. Tap the Save button to save your changes locally.
Alternatively:
- tap and hold an annotation to delete it
- tap the Back button to discard all your changes

Add attached files to an AODocs document while offline
While offline, you can add files to an AODocs document.
Important:
– This feature is available only in libraries using Google Cloud or Azure Blob Storage. It isn't available in Google Drive libraries.
– All upload options are available: Take a picture, Take a video, Choose media, Choose files. However, you can't select files from Google Drive.
