Google Drive dialog: Remove from parent folder?
This Google Drive dialog appears only if the following settings are active:
- flexible permissions are applied in your Team Folder
- all contributors can change permissions
It appears when you remove a permission for a user on a file and the user has the same permissions in the parent folder.
1. Click the standard Google Drive Share button.
2. Click next to a user and select Remove access.
The Remove from parent folder? dialog opens.
Note: This dialog is a standard Google Drive dialog. It is not provided by the AODocs Smartbar.
The dialog indicates that you are about to remove permissions for a user in a file located in a folder where the same user has the same permissions defined. It may be easier to manage permissions at the folder level rather than the file level.
To remove the permission for this user on the selected file, click Remove from item.
To remove the permission for this user on the parent folder, click Remove from parent.
3. Click Done.
