Ability to edit the "Title" property rather than manually scripting it.

We have specific use cases that requires us to add a description and a customized help text to the "Title" field; however, the only way to do this is by creating another property and scripting it to the "Title". This is not ideal as we have to do this for multiple libraries as titling is different in each library. This could also be beneficial for other users that want to be able to edit the "Title" or link the actual document file to another property (ie. Make the title optional).

Examples

"Drawing Name" property would be created and scripted to be called "Title". It would pull the information about the description ("The title is the drawing name labelled on the drawing") and the help text ("Enter drawing title.") into the "Title" description and help text.

"Business Continuity Plan" property would be created and scripted to be called "Title", etc.

"Confined Space Entry Permit Number" property would be created and scripted to be called "Title", etc.

Etc., etc., etc.

Scripting each to be labelled as the "Title" property is not ideal and is time consuming. Simply making the "Title" field to be editable, even if only to super admins, is ideal.

  • I need to be able to rename the 'Title' column name to something other than 'Title', is there a way to do that currently, or is that what this post is requesting?
