Unique document titles?

I am surprised to find that it is possible to create two different AODocs documents (of the same class) with the same document title. Is there a way to prevent a title that has already been used in a Document Management library from being attributed to another document? I would like to calculate the document title from the document properties and be sure that it is unique.
