Notify a role when comments or suggestions added to Google Doc attachment

I've seen this question raised before but I haven't found a solution.

Because AODocs owns the Google Doc attachment, nobody is notified when a user leaves a comment or suggestion within the attachment (unless the user remembers to tag an ldap, which they are not accustomed to doing.)

Has anyone found a way around this issue?

    Hi Mary,

    Thanks for your question.

As AODocs is the owner, no one receives notifications unless they're mentioned specifically. However, you can change the notification settings (attachment by attachment): https://support.google.com/docs/answer/91588?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

This way, you’ll be able to receive a notification for each comment, even if you were not mentioned.

If you’d like AODocs to automate such a setting, can you please open a Feature Request, here: https://support.aodocs.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/200132124-AODocs-Feature-Requests

specifying the behavior you would expect to see: who should be notified? What would be the default behavior?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Catherine - Thanks for responding. This feature request already exists, so I put a "plus one" on the most recent request.

As far as I can tell, changing the notification settings on the attachment has no effect. I've tried it and didn't get any notifications.

This is our #1 feature request.
