I can confirm we would need it on workflow level. In both situations with a single approver or multiple.

We need the exact same search functionality. In addition, searching on corresponding metadata would make it more complete for our use case.

3. No useful metadata shown when searching across libraries

It would be create to also include the labels you can add to the libraries in the search results. Ex: we group or clients via the labels when they are part of a group or holding.
