Version History of PDFs in the Google Drive Interface

Say you have a PDF (that's in an AODocs library) and you are viewing it in the Google Drive interface, you want to replace this version with a newer version. You right click on the document, select "Manage Versions". In the new pop-out menu you "upload a new version". After the upload, you'll see both versions of this document. Now, if you view this document in the AODocs interface and click on "version history" you will not see the two versions. 

Apparently this is an expected behavior and "using the file versioning in Drive is not designed to create a new version of the document in AODocs." I feel that this is a necessary feature request as some users will be solely using the Google Drive interface. It creates a disconnect between the two platforms. 

Can you please fix this file versioning issue?
