Ability to Configure Date Format
We're looking to standardize the date formats across our organization.
I understand the AODocs property formats MM/DD/YYYY (per image 1) and once the document is saved, is shown as MMM DD, YYYY (per image 2).

I'm proposing a setting in the library administration set-up, to define the date format in various ways:
- YYYY/MM/DD or YYYY-MM-DD
- YYYY/DD/MM or YYYY-DD-MM
- DD/MM/YYYY or DD-MM-YYYY
- etc.
Many Thanks.
Comments
Thank you for your contribution. We understand that you would like to be able to customize the format for both the input and the display of the date properties in the library.
Can you please give us more context about the need for date standardization? Is it motivated by a certification requirement? and would you follow specific norms?
Our organisation uses a specified date format, in compliance with the ISO 8601 standard (YYYY-MM-DD).
Also, this ensures the date format is standard throughout the organisation, as many times improper date formatting will result in ambiguity, confusion & incorrect data. For example, 01/02/2019 may be interpreted as Jan-2-2019 or Feb-1-2019?
Thanks.
Concur with Fatima Hashi's comment. The formatting is extremely confusing when the formatting differs in views, document edits and bulk updater. I was disappointed that by setting the locale to English UK makes no difference to the date formatting.
Can I also ask for this feature please. Currently all of our documents are showing MM/DD/YYYY date unless I change the locale in the URL to en_UK (https://aodocs.altirnao.com/?locale=en_UK). OK if I send links to people, but if they connect directly it does not work.
