Ability to change Field Type of a Document Class Property

I would like the ability to change the "Field type " of a Document Class's "Property".  Currently, if you add Properties to a Field type and discover later that the Field type of one of the Properties was incorrect, there is no way to change it. You can to delete the Property and re-add it with the corrected Field type.

    Hello Rosemary,

    Thank you for your feedback. As Celine suggested, it is not an easy action in our back-end.

    Here is how you can proceed as an AODocs administrators to change a field type:

    1. In the document class, the administrator will create a new field of the new type.

    2. The administrator will be able to the AODocs Bulk Updater to migrate the content of one field to the new one for every document of the class.

    3. The administrator will have to delete (or hide) the previous field, once it is replaced by the new one.

    I agree with the proposal of Rosemary, but as already asked the questions to "AODocs" people, I also understand that it shouldn't be so easy to change the field type. Maybe an "in between solution" could be to ask via a pop-up or other "are you sure you want to change the field type, it can have some impact [...]", it could maybe be enough security...

    Will it be possible to "rearrange" the properties if we do this. The new property is usually at the "end" and I would want it to be in the same place where I originally placed the other one.

    Rosemary, you can drag and drop the fields around, in the order you want it be.

    Slightly different question. Is it possible to change the document class assigned to a document? 

    I see that this discussion occurred a while ago. Has there been an official resolution?
