Change storage account for existing library

Hi,

I would like to have the possibility to change the storage account of an existing library to another Google Drive user.

Right now we need to create a new library and export all documents from the existing library to the new one. If we do this we lose all metadata and workflow info from the original library.

Regards,

Kristof Boden

    Hi everyone,

Amélie has prepared a procedure available here:

    https://support.aodocs.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115018778963-Change-the-library-storage-account-or-library-type

that explains how to change the storage account or the library type of a library.

It is a manual procedure, but let us know on her post if it is helpful:

Thanks in advance. Have a great day.

  • I would like to see this functionality as well. It would be very useful. I do understand that you can export, but I think it makes more sense to be able to change the storage account at the per Library level.

  • Hello Kristof,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Firstly, I would like to precise that if you export the documents to a library with the exact same properties than the source library, the document export keeps the properties, so you shouldn't loose them. If you are facing an issue, please open a ticket to our support team.

Secondly, we do not plan to allow this type of operation in the near future, but we are working on new features to improve the management of the storage accounts.

  • Thumbs up on this feature request!  We would LOVE to have this feature (saves time and grief).

  • Since we primarily use Document Management libraries.. it seems like most of this does not apply to us. After re-reading the last item multiple times, I think it is trying to say that if you want to change the storage account of a Document Management Library that you - the domain administrator - cannot.  Can you clarify (I think you might be saying this)... if AODocs can do this on the back-end?
