An attached file is a file that is attached to an AODocs document. Attached Microsoft Office files are stored in Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob Storage.
In AODocs, you can edit attached Microsoft Office files using Microsoft 365 online editors. This feature is available in Document Management libraries using Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob Storage. Learn more: Where is my content stored?
The feature is available for customers with an active AODocs Content Services license. Contact your AODocs sales representative or send an email to sales@aodocs.com for licensing information.
Important: All users must have an active Microsoft 365 license to use the Microsoft 365 editors in AODocs.
1. Open a document containing one or more attached Microsoft Office files in a Document Management library using Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob Storage.
2. Select the appropriate button next to the attached file in the left panel or in the Attached files panel:
- Edit with Word for the Web for for DOCX files
- Edit with Excel for the Web for XLSX, XLSM and XLSB files
- Edit with Powerpoint for the Web for PPTX and PPSX files
Note: You can't edit any other file formats with the Microsoft 365 online editors in AODocs.
The attached file opens in a dedicated Microsoft viewer in a new tab.
3. Edit your attached file as required. Your changes are automatically saved.
Note: You can collaborate in attached Microsoft files with real-time co-authoring.
