Convert Microsoft Office files to Google files

With the legacy AODocs Smartbar installed, you can convert Microsoft Office files in Secured Folders to Google files.

Important:
– This feature isn't yet available in the new AODocs Smartbar.
– This feature is available to users with edit rights.

1. Open your library in Google Drive.

2. Select the file you want to convert.

3. Open the More actions menu and select Convert to Google Docs.

4. In the dialog, select the destination folder for the converted document. You can select My Drive or The current folder. You can also delete the original file if required.

5. Click Convert.

  • Yes, there is a checkbox for that purpose "Delete the original file". Simply check it and click "Convert"

  • Is there a way to convert Office docs to Google in a batch, meaning all the docx or .xlsx in one folder with a single instruction? In the example given , this would mean:: convert all .docx files in folder /Customer. Then convert all .xlsx in folder /Customer.

  • Hi Delores,
Thanks for your question. It isn't currently possible to convert Office docs to Google in a batch using the Smartbar or the AODocs Webapp. Feel free to post a feature request on our Community pages! https://support.aodocs.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/200132124-AODocs-Feature-Requests
