Copy Files in your Secured Folder

In an AODocs library, it is possible to copy a file with its properties, attachments, relations, description and permissions.
Note: Only the last version of a file is copied with the same version name and description. The workflow state is reinitialized on the copy.

You can copy files if you match all the following conditions:

  • You are allowed to create a file in the document class;
  • You are reader or contributor on the file;
  • You are contributor on the parent folder if the permissions are inherited from folders;
  • You are contributor on the file class permissions.

To copy a file in a Secured Folder library, hover your cursor over the file you want to copy, click on the “More actions” button (1) and click on “Make a copy” (2).

A pop-up appears asking you where you want to copy the file (3):

  • In My Drive;
  • In the current folder.

Note: If you can not edit the current folder, you can only copy a file in My Drive.

You can then launch the copy of the file by clicking on "Copy" (4). The copy will be named "Copy of [fileName]".

Note: Workflow state and properties of the current file will not be set on the copied file.

As a reader you can not copy a file if the parameter "Prevent viewers from downloading, copying and printing" was set on the file from the AODocs interface.
